Days Gone is only a day away, and the developers are already talking about the game's first DLC. Set for only a few months after launch, the update will come with a new difficulty, weekly challenges, and a zero dollar price tag.

Details about the update were revealed by Bend Studio Game Director Jeff Ross in the PlayStation Blog. Set to release in June, the free update will release to all players with an active internet connection. It will introduce a new Survival difficulty mode, as well as weekly challenges.

Survival difficulty mode will be a new fourth option for those wanting a real challenge. In this mode, there is no fast traveling, no Survival Vision, and a reduced HUD that doesn't display things like maps and various other indicators. There will also be a number of smaller tweaks to further enhance the experience, but Ross didn't detail them at this time.

As for the weekly challenges: there will be three challenges that circulate every week, starting on the first week of June. The challenges will be for the Bike, Horde, and Combat aspects of the game, respectively. Ross promises that "these challenges take key gameplay features of Days Gone, and twists them in unique ways to earn additional items and rewards."

To ensure that these upcoming features will be worthwhile, players will be rewarded with trophies and unique bike skins.

And if you find yourself unhappy with the game, you can take advantage of GameStop's Guaranteed to Love It program for a full refund.
