In an unexpected jump, Dark Souls: Remastered is already available on Steam for PC.
It began yesterday when the Japanese Twitter page for developers FROM Software posted a tweet saying, "Steam is scheduled to be sold from 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 24, tomorrow. Thank you," (translated into English). When noticed by the Americans, they parsed this to be approximately 7 PM EST. Those who preordered a Steam game code from Amazon also noted that they are expecting to get their Steam key at that specification as well. And at exactly that time, the Steam store page for the game not only appeared, but was available for purchase, download, and play immediately. A few hours later, users were able to use their 50% discount, had they owned the original Dark Souls game prior.
As for PS4 and Xbox One, they still have to wait. While some have reported that their local Wal Mart has already started stocking the game on store shelves, the official release date for them remains to be the 25 at midnight.
If you planned to purchase the game for PC, you can do so right now. Though do be careful, there have been reports of hackers roaming the multiplayer environment of the game, using game breaking bugs and hacks to abuse players and corrupt their game files. Should this happen to you, it's recommended that you block the user from Steam, and report them if possible.
