Dark Souls Played With Bananas: Literally

The Dark Souls community is a pretty creative and hardcore bunch of people. Some could say they enjoy difficulty a little too much. Most casual players find Dark Souls to be one of if not the hardest video game experience out there, at least of its caliber, but those experienced members of the Dark Souls community continue to find new and interesting ways to make their gameplay experience even harder. These methods can range anywhere from attempting playthroughs without weapons, without taking damage or without dying, to playing through the entire game with a Guitar Hero controller. The methods continue to get even more unbelievable, and the community never ceases to amaze.

Perhaps the most bizarre and absolutely mind-boggling challenge yet was started by a Youtuber by the name of ATwerkingYoshi (Twitch handle: TheSuperScrubs), where he literally attempts to play through the game using bananas. Yes, you read right. He actually managed (through means I have no knowledge on) to bind the games controls to individual bananas, making him able to actually play the game through the power of fruit. Why bananas you ask? We shouldn't dwell on his choice of fruit too much, but instead, let's focus on the fact that he is actually managing to play Dark Souls 3 fairly well, with bananas. Every time I think I'm good at a game, somebody has to come along and beat it using fruit. Okay, maybe not every time, but in this case, I'm truly impressed. 

ATwerkingYoshi seems to have some difficulty managing the placement of his bananas at the start, but he quickly starts to get a grip of his layout. While it definitely is still skill based, it seems to come down to memorization more than anything, since having 10 bananas on a desk can be pretty confusing when you're in the thick of a boss fight. I thought I was noble for refusing the help of summons in my play through's of Dark Souls 3, but he manages to also refuse summons while using bananas. I don't think it could get any harder than that, but leave it to the Souls community to come up with a more ridiculous and brutal way to play the game than with bananas.
