But when you get so good at something you can never screw it up, it’s only natural that you would start to challenge yourself to stave off the boredom. And in an interview with The Telegraph, Hidetaka Miyazaki has revealed the true depths of his cockiness when he said he’d like to try his hand at making a Battle Royale game, of all things.
A friggin’ Battle Royale game.
"There’s always the possibility [of making a battle royale game]. These games are definitely fun. And we’re interested in the patterns they are taking. If we did it, it might be a bit different! But we’re definitely interested and there’s definitely that possibility in the future. We’d love to take a crack at them some day."
To be fair, I’m not, like, against the idea of battle royale games: heck, I even enjoy a round of Apex Legends or two every now and again. But for as much as I admire and respect Hidetaka Miyazaki, I’m not sure his particular skillset when it comes to games would translate well to the battle royale genre. I’d be happy to be proven wrong, of course, and I’d buy a game case full of lint if it had his name on it, but it does make me… what’s the word… apprehensive?
Regardless, he's not making one right now. But Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will be out on March 22.
