Finally, some news on Danganronpa!
Well, on the newest entry, published by NIS America: Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls. On September 1st, North American fans of the series can rejoice, for that date marks the release of the beloved horror title. Featuring our favorite monochromatic, devilishly adorable bear, this title "bears" little resemblance in gameplay to the first two titles. Instead of engaging in interactive fiction and enduring trials, figuring out which student "dunnit," you're jumping in the true horror in full blown shooting action.
What's scarier than facing an army?
An army chock full o' Monokumas. In this game, you play as Komaru Naegi, Makoto's (protagonist of the first title) younger sister and Toko Fukawa (yes, crazy psycho-girl), and you're to escape the city overrun with despair and Monokumas. As Komaru, you are given a megaphone--more particularly, a hacking gun--that generates Truth Bullets to attack vulnerable Monokumas with.
Do not fret though, for puzzles and clues are back in the game. This title will definitely utilize your brain to devise the most sophisticated of answers to problems--For instance, you may have to launch a dance party to escape an alleyway!
However, nothing is better than chaining attacks. For instance, you can paralyze your foes and satisfy your inner pyro by lighting them on fire.
Of course, Toko sounds more fun to play than Komaru. I mean, she's completely mad, and what's more fun of a weapon than madness? With a stun gun, she can switch between Toko and Genocide Jack, and when Genocide Jack, you are nigh-invincible, shearing through bears and possibly laughing maniacally. Toko can sometimes be a bit UnBEARable, but useful? Definitely.
I personally can't wait for the fun. With my claws up in the air, acting like I just don't care, in reality, I care. I care a whole helluva lot. If you want a sneak peak at this engaging, frightening title, you can tune into NIS America's Twitch channel on Tuesday, June 23rd.
Is it June 23rd, yet?
Is it now?
Now?
In the meantime, here's the trailer you've all been DYING for.
