More like CyberJUNK, am I right?

One of the hardest decisions to make in RPGs is how your character looks. Plenty of hours have been spent on the character customization screen. Imagine how much harder it would be when you have your swizzle stick to think about.

The ESRB description of the highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 describes everything about the game that might make it inappropriate for certain ages. In it, we learn that the player not only has genitalia but that they can customize it, too.

"The game contains nudity and sexual material: Players can select a gender and customize their character; customization can include depictions of breasts, buttocks, and genitalia, as well as various sizes and combinations of genitals."

It's not clear what this means, exactly. The description says "depictions" of junk and not actual junk. So it doesn't sound like we will directly see any genitalia, but things like bulges. Sizes make enough sense. The bigger setting, the bigger bulge. What "combinations" of genitals means is more of a mystery. Perhaps the player can choose between human or robotic privates.

This also calls into question how the game will be portrayed on consoles. Console manufacturers have certain guidelines that games must follow if they want to be sold on the platforms. One of these includes a cap on maturity rating. An M rating is the highest a game is allowed to go. But for a game to have an Adults Only (AO) rating, it would need extended scenes of severely graphic violence, detailed sexual content, or real money gambling. So we think its safe to say that any sex scenes or imagery will be shown covered or off-camera.

If there was anything we are certain about, it's that the PC version of the game will undoubtedly be modded to allow for full genitalia. It's just a matter of when. It's the least we can expect from the official GZU 2020 Game of the Year.
