Crytek’s fall from grace is only getting more dramatic lately as it was revealed by three sources within the company over the weekend that the Game Director for Homefront: The Revolution and Warface, Hasit Zala, has resigned from his position. Combined with the recent departure of UK development manager Ben Harris and an unspecified number of other employees, it seems that developers are manning the lifeboats to escape a sinking ship.
"It creates a weird scenario as there are now no upper management," said a source within the company, talking to Kotaku. "Everything is just continuing on a downwards spiral."
This comes with more news that apparently, people still aren’t getting paid, even after all this time. Between the people leaving, the people simply not going to work, and the talks of a company takeover, it seems like there are quite a few games we won’t be seeing coming anytime soon… including Hunters: Heroes of the Gilded Age and Homefront: The Revolution. It’s possible they’ll be purchased by another developer but there’s no way to be sure.
Earlier this June, a Crytek representative said that rumors of their financial troubles were untrue and that they were doing fine. They have since then been silent on the subject.
