Crytek Crisis: Employees have Stopped Going to Work

While not a company-wide strike, the situation has gotten worse

The Crytek crisis continues to develop as sources at the UK branch reveal that the employees seem to be entering some kind of strike.

So if you haven’t been keeping up with the Crytek controversy, here’s a quick recap: for the vast majority of the year, several sources from within the company are anonymously coming forward to reveal several troubling occurrences that are plaguing the developer of Crysis and Homefront.  These troubles range from late to missing paychecks, high-level employees getting sold off to other companies, the cancelation of the Ryse sequel and employees getting promoted without an increase in pay, and all point to one sign: Crysis may be shutting down.

Well, according to sources within the company, things have only gotten worse.  A new report has indicated that upwards of one hundred employees in the UK offices have simply stopped going to work, officially submitting letters of grievance before returning to their homes.

That’s a pretty big deal!

For what it’s worth, Crytek still hasn’t commented on these claims, other than to say that they’re unfounded and the company is still healthy—which they would say, because an investor panic would only make their prospects grimmer.  Still, an email has been leaked from within the company of Crytek co-founder telling employees to stop contacting the press about internal affairs.  Obviously that plea fell on deaf ears.

As always, I’ll keep you updated as the Crytek problem develops.
