Crysis 2 Lead Writer says Halo is Bullshit

Yes, that headline is pretty bold I know. It kind of dumbfounded me when I saw it. Especially coming from someone within the gaming industry. While some have looked down upon the Halo franchise over the past several years for becoming somewhat, perhaps, mediocre in their delivery of a good game and content, this guy is outright calling the creators of Halo out. Here's what he had to say in a recent interview;

The reason that its fiction doesn't work has nothing to do with the fact that you don't get to see Master Chief's face, it's because of lines like... "Okay... I'm gonna get up there and kill those guys."

Halo is full of these bullshit archetypal characters.

I can say I strongly disagree with this assessment. I like the mystery of not knowing who he is. Some have even said that they keep his identity hidden because he is YOU, the player. Although if one has ever read the books then you know who he really is and speaking of the books, they do tell a great story. Better than what Mr. Morgan is trying to say.

Head over to Now Gamer to read the full interview with Richard Morgan.
