But anyway. Lots of stuff has been postponed and delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic, but if you’re worried that CD Projekt Red’s upcoming masterpiece Cyberpunk 2077 would be one of them, then the studio has some good news for you: it’s still on-track.
“Over the past week, we have been adapting to the situation and gradually rolling out preventative measures across our entire organization. We’ve also been upgrading equipment & infrastructure and working towards enabling our employees to work remotely, from the safety of their homes.
Today, as a matter of preparation, CD PROJEKT RED switches to full remote work for as long as it is needed. We think this will grant every team member the highest level of personal health safety. And while this is all a bit new to everyone, we are raising to the challenge and showing no signs of stopping in our effort to bring you some kick-ass role-playing action in September”.
An encouraging notification. As the pandemic spreads, many companies, specifically in technical fields like, say, video games, will be switching to work-from-home options. The place I work at has done as much, and I know a few friends in a few studios around the world that have implemented similar plans. But not all of them have done that yet, and we have yet to see if failing to provide a work-from-home option ever becomes a source of controversy for some of these studios…
Well, in the meantime, this is good news at least.
