It's going to save a lot of lives, I hope.

Whenever the Humble Bundle puts together a charity bundle of games, it’s not uncommon for the gaming community, united by a shared sense of goodwill and frugality, to come together and make it a huge success. But even by the lofty standards of the Humble Bundle, which routinely raises millions for charity, the recent COVID-19 Relief bundle is an unprecedented success. By the end of its duration, 208,527 bundles sold, raising a whooping $6,565,557 for charity.

100 percent of that money will be used to help in the fight against COVID-19, and will be spread between four charitable organizations: Direct Relief, International Rescue Committee, Doctors Without Borders, and Partners In Health. And by way of thanks, all four organizations shared what they’d be using the money for, so you can feel even better about your decision to claim over $1,000 worth of games, books, and more for charity.

Direct Relief will be using their money to get personal protection equipment for doctors and nurses, medications, and supplies for people with critical cases of COVID-19.

The International Rescue Committee will be providing support to the populations hit hardest by the outbreak, directing, responding to, and preventing further spread of the disease.

Doctors without Borders will launch emergency programs to stem the spread of the virus in poor communities around the world, “from Syria to Nigeria, to Greece, to Italy, and more.”

Partners in Health will be spending their money to launch a comprehensive effort to test, treat, and advocate those most at-risk, and providing quality care to every single person they can.

It’s not nearly as much as we need, considering how messed up the situation is, but it helps. It helps a whole lot, and a whole lot of you came together to make it happen. So thank you for that.
