The thought of Microsoft bringing one of it's greatest exclusives back is great news for many Xbox gamers. Without much to brag about as far as exclusives go compared to Nintendo and Sony's recent exclusives, Microsoft fans have been thirsty for a new game to brag about. Even despite the announcement of the less than anticipated Crackdown 3, there is a hunger out there for an exclusive that Microsoft just isn't tending to.
Fable 4 could be the savior for Microsoft exclusives, even if some of us aren't quite convinced yet. With Lionshead closed and Fable Legends not making it to a final cut it wasn't likely that the franchise would ever return. The craziest news we have received about the IP was a tweet that has since been deleted by one of the original Lionshead programmers Don Williamson stating, "Mmm ok, having no inside information, I totally know who's building Fable 4 now. Interesting choice...".
That leads us to the creators of Forza Horizon, Playground Games. This does seem a bit odd considering there usual projects are racing games but judging by a listing for a game designer job on their website it seems like it could be a large possibility. They requested a designer to work on the beginning of a large open world RPG AAA game. So with Mr. Williamson mentioning an odd choice and Playground mentioning a AAA RPG that seems like enough to get my hopes slightly up. I guess we will just have to wait to find out.
