If you play Minecraft on consoles: first of all, I'm really sorry. Second of all, you probably feel a little left in the cold, compared to your PC brethren? PC updates come so fast, while on consoles, they're few and far between. You probably feel a mite bitter about it, all things considered, especially since some things, like mods, are never coming to consoles, ever. Well, I have good news for your non-PC using peasants: Mojang is releasing a major update for the console version of Minecraft that will, hopefully, help bridge the massive gulf of content between your version and the kind currently enjoyed by millions on their personal computers.
Most of the changes and additions are long-desired and long-demanded features from the console side of things. For example, this new patch includes the endgame zone, The End (well named, I know), and the famous Ender Dragons on the list of things to slay. It also comes with the ever-popular "Amplified Terrain" option, which makes every generated world extreme, with super high mountains and incredibly deep gulches. This, in addition to the End Cities, replete with End Ships, Chorus Plants, Chorus Flowers and Purpur blocks, which the console version has so desperately desired, will be making their way to Xbox's and PlayStations around the world...
...at some indeterminate point in the future. Mojang did say it will come out this year, and used the exact phrase "stocking-filler", so, I'm guessing we're looking at a holiday release. That's pretty cool, and it's always good to see them continue to update and develop Minecraft across all systems.
I mean, I guess that makes more sense than ignoring it, all things considered, but I still feel fuzzy when old games get attention.
