One of the main reasons anyone even bothered with the (apparently surprisingly good) Call of Duty: Infinte Warfare was because it was the only way for many players to get their hands on the much more desirable HD remake of the very first, extremely popular Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. However, in an astonishingly greedy move, Activision decided to buck “tradition” and sell microtransactions and DLC for the remake, whereas you’d expect that kind of stuff to be free. People raised a huff, but Activision brushed it aside because they knew people would still buy it, and lo and behold, they did.
Well to illustrate the levels of contempt they have for the average player, Activison decided to take the bold next step of not only charging for past DLC, but charging more than it originally cost. Specifically, the DLC Variety Map Pack, which was originally launched at 10 bucks back in 2008, now cost 15 bucks.
The Variety Map Pack includes the "Killhouse", "Creek", "Chinatown" and “Broadcast” maps.
Granted, every map pack released by Activision costs fifteen bucks, so it’s “standard price” as far as Activision’s concerned, but when they already had the audacity to pull this stunt, you can imagine most fans are less than happy about this development.
Still, what can you do? NOT Play Call of Duty? Don’t be silly.
The DLC will launch on March 21st.
