Civilization is celebrating its 25th anniversary. For the video game industry, that's a fantastic feat. Many gamers have never known a world without the Civilization games. To commemorate the milestone, 2K Games has released a special trailer for Civilization 6. Of course, the trailer focuses on the gameplay, but there's a tasteful tribute to Civilization's journey over the years at the start.

Brings a tear to my eye

As far as gameplay is concerned, the most noticeable change is with the cities. In Civilization 6, instead of staying crammed in a single tile, cities are allowed to spill over and take up more space. That means holy sites, wonders, barracks, and more find their own spot surrounding the city center. This adds a new level to defending cities as there is no longer a single site to protect. Speaking of, the trailer also gives us insight into two leaders: Theodore Roosevelt and Cleopatra. Of course, there will be much more revealed as the game gets closer to launch. However, seeing how far the series has come, here's to a spectacular release on October 21 and to 25 more years.
