A lot of people desire the remakes or a remaster of classic games. Hell, even the directors of certain classic titles would be all for it. I'm referring to one of the greatest games of all time, Chrono Trigger. Turns out one of the game's directors, Takashi Tokita, is on board for a high-end version of the classic, according to an interview with Game Informer.

"Personally, if there is ever an opportunity, I would love to see a high-quality, high-end version of Chrono Trigger. Or a movie production, or something of the sort."

That would be amazing... if only it would turn out okay. Lots of reboots have been unable to pull off the original charm of the game, and that is unfortunate, but damn, if Chrono Trigger could pull it off, it would make Square Enix a lot of money.

Did you know it was the love child between Squaresoft and Enix back in the day, and it probably can be considered symbolic of the merge, so it would only be perfect if it was revived somehow.

"Its probably considered sacred since the companies merged. It was essentially a dream mix between Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest; creating or exceeding what it was in its original form is a very difficult feat. Once everyone was done developing Final Fantasy VI, hordes of staff helped out on Chrono Trigger. At the end, we had a couple hundred working on the game at the same time. It was kind of like a grand festival it was really fun. [Tetsuya] Nomura was actually creating the environment background pieces in Chrono Trigger like the courthouse scene, that was created by him. But everyone probably enjoyed how we were able to do things wed never done with Chrono Trigger. That was the most exciting part."

Perhaps a sequel would be best... well then it would technically be a sequel to Chrono Cross, wouldn't it? Or it could be a more immediate sequel. Here's to hoping.
