One such institution is the Chinese League of Legends Pro League, which has announced that they’re going to indefinitely delay competitions, specifically in the hopes of avoiding bringing large groups of people together, where the virus would be able to spread easily.
We have decided to postpone week 2 of the LPL until we can ensure the safety and health of our players and fans. To our fans, we sincerely apologize that it has come to this and we will share any and all info as soon as we can. Stay Safe and thank you all for your support!
If the decision was entirely up to the LPL is up for debate, since China is cracking down hard on efforts to curb the disease as well, but regardless of who made the call, it’s a good one: thousands are infected so far, and with a death toll that’s been rising recently, it’s imperative we do what we can to prevent its spread.
A little less LoL is a small price to pay for that.
