There have been reports in China that studio and publisher 云畅游戏 (YungChange Game) have been given intellectual property rights by Capcom for a mobile game based on the Devil May Cry series.

Currently being called 鬼泣:巅峰之战 (Devil May Cry: Pinnacle of Combat), will be an action RPG using the Unity 3D game engine. Special attention has been given to a combat and will include online modes like team battles and real-time PVP.

Other than the image above, nothing else is known about the game. The Unity engine implies it can be ported to iOS and Android easily enough.

The last Devil May Cry game was DmC in 2013, developed by Ninja Theory, with Devil May Cry 4 before that in 2008, not including special editions or HD collections. In five years time, one would have figured that a new Devil May Cry game would be a bigger title, not a mobile game.

The mobile market is being taken more seriously over the last few years. With games like Fallout Shelter, Pokemon GO, and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp having succeeded so well, many other studios are looking to dip their IPs into the vast pond called mobile games.

Devil May Cry: Pinnacle of Combat might come to the States, but it might not. Stay tuned for if any new information becomes present.
