CD Projekt Red, as you may be aware, is a Polish developer, and is arguably the most famous European developer out there, sans Ubisoft and I suppose Mojang. As the developers behind the Witcher series, they’re rather well-regarded both by fans and other members of the industry, but now, they have another group to add to their list of admirers: the Polish government itself. In a surprise announcement, CD Projekt Red let slip that they recently got a grant from their home country, a reward for their contribution to Polish culture, to the sweet tune of 30 million zloty, which averages out to about 7 million USD.

Now, 7 million USD is pocket change when it comes to developing a triple-A game, but it’s far from nothing. And in their gratitude, CD Projekt Red shared what they planned on doing with that money to enhance their upcoming and thus far mysterious new project, Cyberpunk 2077.
