You can now take monster-slaying and miserable piles of secrets with you wherever you go. With little warning, Konami has released Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night on iOS and Android in a new mobile port.

The mobile version is available now for $2.99 on the App Store and Google Play Store

This version is based on the PSP/PS4 game, with mobile emulation done by DotEmu. It has been modified to be used with on-screen touch controls, supports achievements, controllers, and something called a "New Continue Feature." Players can choose from multiple save states as well.

The launch of the Symphony Of The Night mobile port came as a surprise to many folks, having released before Konami actually made a statement. Shortly after release, however, they published an announcement explaining that they chose now to unveil the game as part of a celebration for season 3 of the Netflix Castlevania animated series. The third season released a few days prior (March 3), featuring the continued story of Trevor Belmont.
