Cartoon Network doesn't have a super great reputation for making top-notch video games. The best they've had to offer has been the micro-transaction rittled, but never-the-less awesome Card Wars game for mobile platforms. During this year's E3, however, they showed promising details and gameplay of two upcoming games, Teeny Titans and Card Wars Kingdom.

Gotta buy 'em all!

The most pleasing thing about Teeny Titans is that it is confirmed to have absolutely no microtransactions. Every purchase in the game is with currency soley earned in the game itself. This is wonderful news, as it completely eliminates any pay-to-win scenario. Teeny Titans takes a pokemon style approach to the game, but in this case, players are purchasing collectable figures from the Teen Titans universe for their battles. The game is fully voiced by the original cast and even features George Takei as the main villain. Needless to say, this game definitely has a lot of promise!

This is great since I don't have any friends to play the actual card game

On the other hand, one detail that's been specifically missing from the interviews about Card Wars Kingdom is whether or not it will have in-app purchases. Considering how successful the original Card Wars has been with its microtransactions, I wouldn't hold my breath. However, the gameplay has definitely come a long way. Each battlefield is fully animated and looks amazing. All characters are fully voiced and all cards have their own animations, which is surprising for a card based game. Gameplay itself has changed a bit too. Instead of just having a huge hand of various cards, you build a team of your favorite creatures. These few creatures are all you get, allowing you to spend the rest of the match buffing, debuffing, and thinking creatively on how to win. When you run out of creatures, you lose, instead of dealing with player health. This is an interesting move and is definitely closer to the original idea of Card Wars revealed on Adventure Time years ago. Microtransactions or not, this game is worth checking out as it gets closer to release. I do not typically partake in mobile games, but these are definitely on my radar.goo
