Captain Falcon and Fire Emblem Awakening Cast Join Smash Bros 4

It's just not a Smash Bros game without falcon punches

You know... yesterday there was a standing room only crowd of die hard Super Smash Bros Melee fans at EVO 2014, cheering on Mango as he became the now two time world champion on a 10 year old Gamecube title. Smash players are diehard, and Nintendo saw that first hand at E3 when they hosted an invitational tournament for Smash Bros 4.

So maybe before that exciting grand final match at EVO, have someone from Nintendo on stage and announce some new characters for Smash Bros? That wasn't the case, and with the Japanese 3DS release of the game only 2 months away now... there's only but so many roster reveal chances left. One of those chances was just pissed away this morning after all the hype has died down from EVO.

Captain Falcon mains can breath a sigh of relief... it's been a long wait, but you'll be able to get your falcon punches on in the new Smash. This leaves Ness and Earthbound as the only character/series that's been in since the original Smash to still not be confirmed.

Fire Emblem seems to be getting some extra love this time around... with Marth and Ike already confirmed, two more characters from the latest 3DS title will be making their Smash debut. Both Lucina and Robin will be in the game, including an alt female version of Robin... really showing that Nintendo has committed to the largest female roster ever seen in Smash.

Super Smash Bros 4 will be hitting the US 3DS first in early October, with a WiiU release this holiday season.
