Capcom to Establish Mobile Business Division, Plans to Release Mega Man for Mobile

Oh, and this includes Monster Hunter. This isn't even a joke.

I'm not sure what to trust on April Fools' Day, but even this news seems a little unrealistic. According to a Japanese press release from Capcom, the company announced that it has established a "Mobile Business Division" to reorganize its mobile operations. Mobile titles will be produced both in Japan and abroad. For the exact quote:

"This division aims to produce hit titles both domestically and abroad by aggressively utilizing the company's popular IP."

The mobile games market, according to this release, will grow from $27.5 billion in 2015 to $37.4 billion in 2019. Beeline and Capcom have teamed up and Beeline Interactive Japan Inc. has since been renamed to Capcom Mobile Co., LTD. Capcom plans to release four titles in the fiscal year ending March 31, 2017: Monster Hunter, Sengoku BASARA, and Mega Man.

"Mobile Content is a driver of growth in the game market as well as an important factor in Capcom's growth strategy. Under these circumstances, Capcom [has] established its Mobile Business Division in order to grow its business in-step with the market and continue offering exciting content."

Capcom will also be strengthening "licensed content in Asia in accordance with their new mobile strategy."
