Either way, Capcom, at least, is excited, and following the release of the trailer, the company sent out a notice to the press regarding Capcom’s plans, both for the game and more broadly.
Turns out, they plan on bringing some old IP back. Although what that could mean is anyone’s guess. Here’s what I’m talking about.
“Capcom is currently focused on reviving series that have not had new entries recently, or otherwise dormant IP. Beginning with MARVEL VS. CAPCOM: INFINITE, a return for the series following a five-year hiatus, Capcom looks to enhance its corporate value even further by utilizing its library of rich contents.”
Alright, so… there’s a lot in that library. There’s good ol’ fashioned Megaman, of course, but there’s also Viewtiful Joe, Ghosts and Goblins (they made an MMO of that once, fun fact), Breath of Fire, Darkstalkers, Power Stone… Okami? Man, Okami would make me really happy.
But it’s probably just going to be more Megaman, let’s be honest. Or another Devil May Cry reboot.
