And while Devil May Cry 5 did get some new content in the form of Bloody Palace mode, it seems that’s all we can expect from the game for the time being: according to producer Matt Walker, over on Twitter, after being asked by a fan if the game would get more DLC:
Unfortunately dev on DMC5 is finished. I'd personally like to see the ladies playable too. We can only hope that at some point we can convince the people up top that it's worth doing.
Sad news for Devil May Cry 5 fans, but not without hope. For one, this doesn’t exactly close the door on any special or definitive editions in the future. In fact, with the PS5 coming along, a remake for next-gen consoles is certainly a possibility. And secondly, it’s very possible that instead of working on Devil May Cry 5 content, series director Hideaki Itsuno is now working on Dragon’s Dogma 2… which might not be good news for DMC fans but it’s damn good news for me.
In any case. Devil May Cry 5 is a fine game as is, and the only real problem is there isn’t more of it: as far as games go these days, that’s probably something to celebrate more than mourn.
