Capcom Files Trademark for Monster Hunter World

In the US, mind you.

So Capcom has filed a trademark for something oddly suspicious.

What trademark are we talking about?

Monster Hunter: World.

Oh, and by the way, this has been trademarked in the United States.

What could this trademark possibly mean? There has been some speculation on Neogaf:
  • Monster Hunter 5, but it's renamed.
  • Monster Hunter XX's localized name.
  • The Monster Hunter MMO.
To me, it definitely sounds like a spinoff of sorts rather than a main entry.

Maybe, just maybe, we'll find out more during E3 week, but since it's recently been trademarked... I'm not so sure that we'll see anything.

Oh well, maybe we'll see something about Monster Hunter World in the oncoming days.
