Call of Duty isn't very well known for objective based gameplay, and even when people do play objective game types, the majority of the team go for kills above all. That's just the nature of the game. Although, in Call of Duty WW2, you'll actually have to co-operate with your team in the new "War Mode" game type.
Studio Head of Sledgehammer Games, Michael Condrey, says that the new War Mode game type will not only change how the game is played, but who you'll play as well. For instance, players will be able to play as the axis on D-day.
"One of the War maps is Operation Neptune and that's D-Day," Condrey says. "You will play D-Day from the Axis perspective; you'll begin by having to hold the Allies off the beach, and I don't think anyones ever seen that before, let alone played that before."
Call of Duty attracts a wide variety of players, so let's just hope that War Mode is actually taken seriously, and not dominated by trolls. One can only dream.
