Well, it looks like Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is getting people pretty angry with their microtransaction system. If there wasn't enough hate toward the game already, this system is likely to make sure it reaches its full potential. Similar to Gears of War 4's microtransactions, players can either buy things with cash or wait to earn it in the game. If you wait to buy it with just game time alone, it will take you a disgusting amount of time, so why not buy it?

Systems like this shouldn't be put into place, ever. If you add loot boxes for cash to get some cosmetic items, that's fine. However, in Infinite Warfare, these loot boxes directly impact the online experience and give the cash-spender an advantage. The new Call of Duty title has a crafting system for weapons. You can upgrade weapons with salvage gained from completing multiplayer matches and eventually get them to an "Epic" tier. To get a weapon that far along the upgrade tree, it would take players roughly 97 hours of gameplay to unlock all the salvage required.

Now if you want to skip that step, you can buy a loot box which contains extra salvage. You spend a little cash and you save yourself 97 hours of game time. This is an incredibly clear advantage for those willing to spend money. It can take a person over 90 hours to get a gun that you just bought, you'll have the upper hand in matches because you'll have a better gun, and you didn't have to do anything for it expect spend money. These kinds of systems need to stop. It's not fair and it really kills a community.
