Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout to have Helicopters, Zombies

No helicopter zombies, though, so what's even the point?

Earlier today, Game Informer had a giant blowout on Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 “Blackout”, the Battle Royale mode that would be taking the place of the single-player mode. There was a lot of information to go through, but in a lot of ways, it was pretty much exactly what you’d expect.

While we always knew that the map would be a big amalgamation of the previous fan favorites in earlier Black Ops games, one of the biggest details of the game had been a mystery to us for a long time: exactly how many other players would you have to gun through in order to secure a win? And now we finally have an answer: 79. Which is to say, it will be an 80-man battle royale.

And if you thought you’d be stuck walking across this giant map, you’re in for a surprise: while we had always known/figured that there would be vehicles in the mode, that would allow you to travel through land, sea, and sky, we only now got the final list of vehicles you can hijack and/or blow up: ATV’s, Cargo Trucks, “Zodiac Inflatable Boats", and the “Little Bird Helicopter.” So if you were hoping you could zip around in a fighter jet, I’m afraid that’s not quite possible.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly: the map will be littered with AI-controlled zombies. We don’t know exactly how they’ll work compared to the usual zombie mode, but it’s safe to assume that they could either be the cause of some major headaches, or they could be used to scope people out who decide to waste precious ammunition killing them. Maybe there’ll even be a weapon to let you move 'em around.

Game Informer will have continued coverage of Blackout with reviews and the like, so if this trips your trigger you should probably check them out.
