The Crypt of the NecroDancer, the popular music-beat dungeon crawler joined together with Nintendo to create a whole new experience for the Legend of Zelda. Introducing Cadence of Hyrule!
Combining the art, world, and lore of the Legend of Zelda with NecroDancer's key signature gameplay, Cadence of Hyrule has Link, Zelda, and NecroDancer protagonist Cadence work together to fight Bokoblins, Keese, and other Zelda enemies. All the while, hip and funky remixes of classic Zelda soundtracks will play, forcing the player to move and groove to the beat.
The trailer reveals a few aspects of the game. Zelda, for example, has a collection of offensive abilities similar to what he can do in Super Smash Bros, the popular Nintendo fighting game. We also see new enemies alongside the old classics, such as large suits of armor with electric guitars.
Not much is known about the game outside of what we see in the trailer. Nintendo has confirmed that the overworld and dungeons WILL be randomly generated, however.
Brace Yourself Games is developing the game in partnership with Nintendo. It's uncommon to see the major game company allow third-party studios to work with one of their biggest intellectual properties. Either way, we couldn't be more excited to play!
