Everybody is aware that Destiny 2 has been in development since both Bungie and Activision have talked about it in one way or another for the past couple of months. Recently, an employee from an Italian Gamestop retail store leaked an image of a Destiny 2 poster that showed a September 8th release date. I think everybody expected Bungie or Activision to make an announcement following this leak since it seemed pretty legitimate. Well, Bungie released what looks like Destiny 2's official logo today, but honestly, they are still just teasing us.
We already know the potential launch date, and we already know that we won't be able to transfer over levels or gear from the original Destiny, so I somewhat expected Bungie to give us some more useful information other than a logo. Nevertheless, Destiny fanboys and girls have a logo to hang up on their wall until it releases this fall. While the world is buzzing about the leaked poster, all Bungie can manage to do is tweet an image of a logo? It would make sense if they at least released a trailer so we could get excited, but so far, the Gamestop leak takes the cake.
Leaks obviously happen all the time, and they aren't in the control of developers or publishers. While developers aren't obligated to respond to leaks, in this situation, it may have been a smarter move. They could have at least said something along with the tweet. Oh well. Beggars can't be choosers I guess.
