The Destiny 2 API has yet to be adjusted to reflect the recent in game change to earned XP. We are working on an API update to address the discrepancy. The correct value to earn an additional level is 160,000 XP.
This has essentially nullified the time an effort previously saved by removing the diminishing returns. With a little math, it's discovered that those who participate in the daily repeated events for EXP will overall reduce their time needed to grind by 6%. It's become clear that Bungie has been doing damage control over these EXP changes, instead of genuinely wanting to improve the game's level of enjoyment. Regardless of their intent, these recent events have soured many gamer's opinions of the game as well as their desire to play it.
