Bruce Lee Enters the Octagon in EA Sports UFC

Bruce Lee in a video game isn't exactly anything new... most popular fighting games have an homage character to the icon like Street Fighter's Fei Long, Tekken's Law, or Dead or Alive's Jann Lee. The first Bruce Lee game dates all the way back to 1983. Without a doubt, Lee was the ultimate fighter... and now he's here to prove it in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

David Hayes of EA gives the reasoning behind this decision-

I feel like this is the most ridiculous question. Why put Bruce Lee in a UFC game? Its. Bruce. Lee

You have the premier organization in the fastest growing sport in the world, the UFC; and the most iconic martial artist in the history of the world, Bruce Lee a martial artist renowned for his philosophies that laid the groundwork for modern mixed martial arts. I cant conceive of a universe where bringing these two things together doesnt make sense. I know there are going to be countless fans that feel the exact same way and they will be eager play with such a legend in the UFC Octagon. I am one of them.

This isn't the first time EA has added iconic fighters in their prime to a game, Fight Night Round 4 had both Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson. Adding Bruce Lee to EA Sports UFC wasn't a decision that was made lightly. The decision was fully backed by Lee's estate, and they even provided a life cast of his body that EA scanned and used as a base for their character model. This is as about as close to really seeing Bruce Lee kick the crap out of Jon Jones as we'll ever get.
