According to his father, Lance Perkins, he received a credit card bill for that amount, thanks to the purchasing of in-game extras.
"It floored me. Literally floored me, when I'd seen what I was being charged," he told CBC News.
"He thought it was a one-time fee for the game. He's just as sick as I am, [because] he never believed he was being charged for every transaction, or every time he went onto the game."
Is this believable? Normally, I thought microtransaction purchases came with warnings, but this may not be the case with FIFA 16. After all, I haven't played it.
Since this incident, Perkins vowed to never let another console grace his home. Never ever.
"There will never be another Xbox system - or any gaming system - in my home."
This may be a little overboard... Couldn't he just... remove the credit card and never again allow a credit card to grace a system, instead relying on game cards?
Remember when games only had a one time purchase? Yeah, I miss those days too.
