Now more than ever, people are talking about the idea of a Borderlands 3 game. As fun of an idea as that sounds, a Gearbox Software representative has stated that there will not be any Borderlands 3-related content at this year's E3 event.
When Wal-Mart accidentally released product listings for unannounced titles, Borderlands 3 could be found amongst the list. Since shortly after the incident, Rage 2 was announced, people are now taking the leak as gospel. With E3, the biggest gaming event there is, coming next month, many have taken to believing we will hear about these leaked games then.
It's important to note that they did not say there wasn't going to be a Borderlands 3, just that it will not be presented at E3. This likely means that the game is, in fact, in development, but they aren't prepared to make any announcements at this time. PAX West is taking place later this year, perhaps we will hear something then.
So far, this is all we have to go off of in regards to the third Borderlands iteration. All the same, we remain hopeful. The first two games were massive successes. And the third should prove just as grand, as long as it maintains its same brand of quality.
