VA-11 HALL-A emphasizes deeply on story, which surfaces as you inebriate customers with your mixed drinks and listen to their stories relating to their background and their emotions of the post-dystopia era. You ultimately change the patron's future, depending on what drink you give them--a unique, creative aspect quite suited for the game.
As for the plot, corporations have taken over and humans are infected with nanomachines that actually oppress them. Couple these nanomachines with patrolling "White Knights," and you receive a cocktail of depression. The people that are oppressed--the clients--trail into the bar, Valhalla, in order to drink away their sorrows, willing to spill their life's story, but only if you maintain their inebriation.
Here are some of the features to look forward to:
- Learn about daily life in a cyberpunk dystopia.
- A branching storyline where your decisions do not depend on traditional choices, but through the drinks you prepare.
- Visuals inspired by old Japanese adventure games for the PC-98, which a modern touch for an other-worldly experience.
- Get to know your clients their tastes, and prepare the drink that will change their lives.
Yup, waifubartending.com.
