Bloodborne news! That automatically means I have to write about it, as one of the symptoms of my current obsession. And if you have a problem with it, then… well… please don’t have a problem with it, we’re a small site and we need you.

One of the major gripes with Bloodborne—and a well-deserved one at that—is that the loading times are way too long for a modern game. Now, if this were, say, Battlefield or something, long loading times might not be so bad; but on a game that markets itself as difficult (thus prompting a loading screen) with a ‘central hub’ you have to warp too if you want to fast travel anywhere else in the world, thirty second loading screens can become tedious VERY quickly, and really underline the other design problems the game has (the need to grind for healing and ammunition, for example) that would otherwise be mere inconveniences.

Well, we were promised by From and Sony that a patch would come soon to fix the issue, and lo and behold, that day still isn’t here: but we did get a message from Sony and From promising that fix, and a couple of other bug fixes (including the now famous “keep the game running for 12 hours for easy mode” glitch), would be released before the end of the month.

But that’s not all! To celebrate the fact the game has officially sold over one million copies, a Japanese tweet revealed that From will be pulling a Valve and will be releasing a free DLC hat for our messengers in the game. That will be released in two days, on the 16th, so feel the hype!

Here’s hoping for a quick and easy fox for the loading screen, though. It’d be nice to get the most glaring issue with the game gone so we can go back to slaughtering beasts faster.
