That said, despite the hype that would obviously follow such a reveal, we’ve heard not a snippet from either Sony or From on if a sequel is in the cards. Are they keeping their plans close to their chest, or do they simply have no intention of letting us know?
Well, maybe it has something to do with timing? After all, what better way to draw eyes and praise to the Sony side of E3 than a reveal of one of the most hotly-anticipated games of the year? At least, that’s what CEO and Game Director of Moon Studios, Thomas Mahler, is saying over NeoGAF, responding to a threat inquiring onto the fate of Bloodborne 2 at E3 by writing:
“I’m 99% certain we’ll see it :)”
Granted, Moon Studios should have very little to do with the production of Bloodborne 2, given their only major game credit is Ori and the Blind Forest, but people are hungry for hope and boy, a major player in the industry putting his name out there like that is good enough for most. But industry leader or not, I’d feel it’s a fairly safe bet, given it’s been long enough since the first and Sony is gonna want to follow up on the success of Dark Souls 3 and it’s final DLC.
Besides, after The Order turned out to be a bust, Sony’s not about to waste any exclusives anytime soon.
