As we all know, Overwatch is a constantly changing competitive shooter. Blizzard is constantly making changes to heroes based off of observation since it's hard to tell how balanced a hero actually is until the community has sufficiently tested them enough. Players are constantly using the word "Overpowered", so I can imagine how hard it is for Blizzard to actually determine which heroes are balanced and which are as they say "OP". Recently, Blizzard made a significant amount of changes to various heroes, with the most drastic changes being the ones made to Bastion (for the better).
With Bastion getting a significant buff, they also decided to give ana a significant nerf, which I for one did not see coming. There's nothing about Ana that really shouted out "Overpowered" to me when I play as or against her, but Blizzard decided that she was a little too powerful for their liking. Blizzard has reduced Ana's Biotic Rifle damage from 80 to 60, as well as reducing her Biotic Grenade impact damage from 60 to 30 and it's healing from 100 to 50. These are some pretty alarming changes to her core abilities, but luckily they are being tested in the PTR version of the game, and not yet live. Keep in mind that these changes are not set in stone, and the initial changes usually end up being changed before officially launching.
Obviously, Overwatch is constantly adapting, and it takes time for players to get used to changes, but If Blizzard feels Ana needs to be changed then it's definitely for the better. At least players have the opportunity to test the recent changes before they go live. There's no better way to support the health of the Overwatch community than helping Blizzard test the changes and come to a fair, reasonable consensus.
