News fluttered around yesterday after a video for the new Overwatch seasonal event was leaked from the french PlayStation youtube channel, which was obviously quickly taken down. Most leaks contain pretty juicy information earlier than were supposed to receive it, but this leak was pretty pointless seeing as Blizzard announced the PVE Event today, and it's in English, which is always a plus. Overwatch's new "Uprising" event takes place around 7 years ago when King's Row has fallen, and the Overwatch team must fight to reclaim it.

This new PVE event seems like a similar concept to the older Junkenstein Halloween event since it will most likely be a horde like game mode, but hopefully, Blizzard has made some adjustments to the overall gameplay mechanics. A new event is always exciting even if you're not excited for the new brawl, mostly because, well, skins. Skins are what Overwatch fans thirst for, and it looks like we just got a whole new batch of awesome ones (Blackwatch Genji being my personal favorite).

The Overwatch Uprising seasonal event starts today until May 1st, giving us plenty of time to get the skin for our favorite heroes. The new PVE event was actually Tracer's first mission as part of the Overwatch team and you get to play as either her, Torbjorn, Reinhardt or Mercy to fight off waves of rogue omnics and reclaim the city for humanity. Among countless skins and player icons, this new update includes 10 new skins, 3 new highlight intros (Torbjorn, DVA & Zenyatta) and 3 new emotes (Hanzo, Soldier 76 & Pharah).

Make sure to clear some room from your calendar and get to grinding some Overwatch loot boxes before they become ancient history and let us know what your favorite skins are! Stay tuned to GZU for more Overwatch news.
