Blizzard Hates Overwatch Support Heroes in Ranked Queue

With the Summer Game coming to a close, it's time to stop playing Lucioball and start playing some ranked. Now, Overwatch is an absolutely incredible game and I play it almost every single day. I'm a Mercy main and I always have my pre-made team of friends ready to go. With Blizzard's new ranked updates, I might not be able to play with them for much longer. In ranked gameplay, higher damaging heroes will get more experience. By doing more damage and getting more kills, you will rise through the ranks much faster then support heroes. Since I play with friends that are very good at the game, I keep them alive and they rack up the kills. Due to the amount of damage that they put out, healers become overlooked because the ranking system views them as basically useless. If a healer were playing with below-average players who got very few kills and did little damage, the support player would appear to have done better.

This is a broken system that not only cripples supports but also discourages people from ever playing one. Why would I play Mercy if I could just High Noon the entire team with McCree? Even if I don't do that good, I'll still get more rank than if I played a fantastic healer game. In addition to this, Blizzard has also changed the rank margin. You used to be able to play with people within 50 ranks of you. That has now been reduced to only 10 ranks. Not only will support players rank up more slowly than there friends but now you have to make sure you keep up or you won't even be able to play with them!

This is also coming after the accidental nerf Blizzard gave to Mercy. Honestly, I'm glad the Blizzard gives rank based on individual performance. I hate games that average out team MMR and then give the same amount of rank experience to the whole team. If I play well, I want to be rewarded for that, but Blizzard needs to fix the system right now. If you're giving out individual rank exp, please take the focus off of damage and give each hero specific stats that prove they're good. If a Mercy heals for 14k health, a Reinhardt shields 25k damage, and a McCree gets a team kill with his ult, all three heroes deserve a lot of exp.
