Tic-Toc
Tick, tock...
No?
Tic... tac?

Still no?

Okay, let's give this one more go: Tic-Toc. Ah, there it is. Tic-Toc-Tower, which bears some resemblance to the name Tic-Tac-Toe, was released on Steam Early Access last month. Scoring an 8/10 and priced at $7.99, Tic-Tac-Tower appears to be a solid retro-y experience filled with strategy, puzzles, speed, and platforming elements. Over its time on Early Access, it has bloomed from a dirtied game to a polished, action-packed joy that challenges even the most hardened of players. Tic-Toc-Tower utilizes bite-sized frantic platforming (AKA a 10 second platformer) and puzzle elements, coupled with a special watch that grants two extra seconds (at a certain cost), for a complete mayhem experience. Of course, you can ramp up the mayhem to a hardcore 10 by throwing in three other friends.

Tic-Toc-Tower also bears the following amazing rhyme:

Tic-Toc says the clock.
You have 10 seconds to comply.
Complete the level within these seconds,
or else you'll say goodbye!

Nevertheless, the full release date is just over the horizon: the now fine-tuned Tic-Toc-Tower will be available on September 28. During the Early Access period, the following has been added:
  • The jumping system has been overhauled. The jump button is now pressure-sensitive, meaning that players can dictate the length of their jump much more precisely.
  • A new character, named Bouncy, has been added. Like her name would suggest, Bouncy bounces on a quint, red skippy ball.
  • The Hell Mode has been added, which is--you guessed it-- an extra hard mode with the added 'benefit' that players have to restart at the mere touch of any spike, turret, or sawblade that hits them.
  • Worldwide Leaderboards to breed more competition. Also included is a friend leaderboard, slated for launch, that is bound to strain friendships.
  • Completely redone sound effects, because sound effects are essential in any game.
  • 142 levels are now offered, giving at the minimum--and if you're perfect--1420 seconds (about 24 minutes) worth of gameplay.
  • 30 achievements for the achievement obsessed.
And finally, the tower can be navigated in more than just English; Spanish, French, and Dutch has been added, but Japanese and German languages will be added at launch. So if you need some hardcore challenges that you're willing to spend some time with, feel free to check out Tic-Toc-Tower, currently available on Steam's Early Access for $7.99, though a full launch is due September 28, 2015.
