Back in the good ol' days of the Nintendo v. Sega era of gaming, Sega had a popular RPG series. This began with Shining in the Darkness for their Genesis console. Since then, it exploded into many different paths where it experimented with genre. What is known as the Shining series explored hack-n-slash gameplay with Shining Force Neo to the adventure style with Shining Wisdom. And now, with Blade Arcus from Shining: Battle Arena, we can add 2D fighter to the list.

Blade Arcus from Shining: Battle Arena appears to be a typical, 2D anime spectacle fighter. The 16 characters span the series. Players can pick two characters to swap between and use devastating link attacks. The new addition to the series is set to launch on Steam on July 28. Players can pick up a digital copy for $29.99, but the early birds get a 20% discount.
