Black Desert Online is a Korean MMORPG that recently made a splash in North America. It offers a totally unconventional experience, with a huge sandbox world (no loading screen), complex economy, guild PVP system and revolutionary combat system (the best I've ever played in an MMO personally). Other than mechanics, Black Desert Online is probably the most beautiful looking MMORPG that I've ever played, and probably the best looking MMORPG on the market right now, which is definitely a plus.
With its continued success, it's no surprise that developer Pearl Abyss has confirmed that they are working on porting Black Desert Online to Xbox One and PS4. It's been rumored for a while that Black Desert Online would be coming to console, and Pearl Abyss finally responded to the rumors via a twitter post. With Elder Scrolls Online being the most popular MMORPG on console right now, I think Black Desert Online could make a huge impact on console, and the controls should transfer over to a controller fairly smoothly. Overall, it's nice to see more major MMORPG's making their way onto console, especially ones that take the genre in a whole other direction since so many free-to-play cookie-cutter MMO's plague the market.
While it is exciting that Black Desert Online will be coming to console soon, Pearl Abyss couldn't share any information other than the fact that they are working on it. No official release date has been announced, so I wouldn't get hyped up too fast. Until then, I'll be on the PC version like I usually am.
Are you a console player that's interested in Black Desert Online? Doing research on an MMORPG is definitely important since it takes quite a bit of time investment to actually enjoy the game to its fullest extent.
