Black Desert Online Celebrated April Fools' by Mocking Butt Pose Controversy

A well-thought out marketing ploy, if I do say so myself.

Awhile ago, we learned that Blizzard removed Tracer's butt pose in Overwatch. Since yesterday was April Fools' Day, Black Desert Online took the opportunity to mock the action, though this could have been probably done any day. Daum Games released a press release stating that they introduced the same butt pose as a victory animation in Black Desert Online.

Here's the exact release, word for word:

Daum Games today announced that Black Desert Online will get special butt pose victory animations in the new Crimson Battlefield PvP mode, added as part of the Mediah Expansion earlier this week.

The Crimson Battlefield is an instanced 40v40 PvP mode which can be entered in groups of five or individually. When players emerge victorious, their characters will flaunt their buttocks right before the end results screen appears. The new animations are unique to each class and will be available to both male and female characters.

The first series of butt pose animations will be added during next week's maintenance and will be made available at no additional cost. A wider range of optional buttpose animations will be made available through the cash shop at a later stage.

That's still hilarious despite being a marketing tactic. And yes, this is more about the Mediah Expansion. If you're interested, here are the features of the expac:
  • World size increased by 30 percent
  • Over 1,000 new quests
  • Kzarka - A new boss that requires hundreds of players to take down
  • New guild missions - including special bosses
  • Crimson Battlefield - Instanced 40v40 skirmishes. Players can queue in groups of five or solo.
  • New weapons and armor
  • Craftable Alchemy Stones that can attach Attack, Defense, or Life bonuses to equipment
  • Equipment can be enchanted to higher levels.
Have you been into Black Desert Online? Have you been excited for the expansion?
