This isn't a joke, despite the date.

Look, we know what day today is. But were serious. This is real. Big Chungus is in an official Looney Tunes game.

Specifically speaking, the notorious meme character is coming to Looney Tunes: World of Mayhem, a battle collecting mobile game based in the cartoon universe. The game has players collect various Looney Tune characters, each with unique stats. The core gameplay consists of collecting these characters and combining them into battle teams.

Announced on March 28 (so you know its not an April Fools Joke), the games official Twitter account announced the characters introduction, with a more detailed reveal trailer the following day.

Considered a Legendary defender minion, he can be acquired in game during special events. In this case, he will be available as part of an Easter egg hunt event. Players can find various Easter eggs and trade them in for pieces of the Chungus. Get them all and youll have the character for yourself.

While unexpected, what surprises us the most is the name. This is the first time that an official Looney Tunes creation used the name granted to the character. First appearing in a 1941 Merrie Melodies cartoon called Wabbit Twouble, the heavyset depiction of Bugs Bunny was a one-off joke used to mock Elmer Fudd. It wasnt until 2018 did the image get paired with the name Big Chungus, becoming its own viral meme. The name isnt copyrighted, we suppose. So theres no harm in them using it for the game.

If you ever needed an excuse to consider Big Chungus canon, this is it.
