So, between turning Watch Dogs into a cartoon for kids, this new Splinter Cell animation that’s coming to Netflix, and whatever the heck is going on with Assassin’s Creed, long-time enablers of sexual abuse Ubisoft have got a lot of plans for bringing their not-quite Nintendo level famous IPs to the big and little screen. But if you were thought they’d be complacent with just this (as well as the Rabbids cartoon you forgot existed), then think again: because it was just announced they’re going to have Netflix make another movie based off another IP, and this one is perhaps the most exciting of the lot.
They’re making a Beyond Good and Evil movie.
Details are scarce. All we know is that this movie, which will be an “epic space pirate adventure”, is being directed by Rob Letterman, the guy behind Detective Pikachu, and the less famous Jason Altman and Margaret Boykin will be producing. That, and the fact that we can safely assume this will be available on Netflix, is all we know.
So in a way, we know more about this movie than we do about Beyond Good and Evil 2, which I remind you technically exists.
No release date, but I’d put my money on “not soon.”
