Bethesda is no stranger to using their IPs on uncommon products. Normally this is with Deathclaw plushies and Skyrim cookbooks. But this time it's something a little more conceptual, but still very physical. Introducing Ripped & Tear, a Doom Slayer Workout Routine.
A post on the Doom portal for the Bethesda website details a new project, made in collaboration between Bethesda and fitness trainer Phillip Durity. Ripped & Tear will educate readers about the various muscles and body parts present in keeping fit and strong while framing it all in the classic DOOM premise.
For example, Quad Damage in this context isn't the 4x damage multiplier from the past games, but a description of how to not do unneeded harm to your quadriceps.
Currently with two subjects (quads and lats) divided into two posts each, Ripped & Tear appears to be an ongoing series, though they've not detailed when or how long it will publish.
This is the combination of healthy living and nerd culture that I can absolutely get behind. All that's missing is one of those weekly workout routines. The Doom Soundtrack would make a perfect workout playlist. Want to check the posts out, maybe learn something you didn't know about your back muscles? Here are the four posts available at the time of publishing this.
Ripped & Tear 1a: Quadriceps
Ripped & Tear 1b: Quad Exercises
Ripped & Tear 2a: Lats and Ledges
Ripped & Tear 2b: Lats and Slayer-Speed Ledge Climbing
