Fans, get ready for some street fighting action, because Amazon and GameStop have been throwing beta keys—in the form of an e-mail—your way for Capcom's upcoming Street Fighter V beta. Restricted to multiplayer only, the beta will begin on July 23 at 6:00 PM PST/9:00 PM EST and will last for approximately five days. Four characters will available from the start: Charlie, Chun-Li, M. Bison, and Ryu. Cammy and Birdie will make their appearances July 25.

Download size-wise, Street Fighter V will be pretty large, but considerably average in this day and age; the base requires 1.409GB of your PlayStation 4 HDD, whereas the update patch will consume about 1.409GB extra, totaling to 2.818GB of space.

As stated in a previous article, the beta will not support local multiplayer but only online multiplayer. After character selection, the player will be thrown into a training room until the servers find a match for the player.
For guaranteed access to the beta, players need to pre-purchase a copy of the PlayStation 4 version of Street Fighter V. Unfortunately, sign-ups have closed on July 15, and so the only option of participating in the beta lies within pre-ordering.

So far, Street Fighter V looks to change from its predecessor by featuring new moves, characters (Necalli, anyone?), a single disc, and a micro-transaction model where players can slowly earn DLC using in-game credits called “Fight Money” rather than flat-out shelling out extra dough for the “paid” currency titled “Zenny.”

Street Fighter V will launch Spring 2016, with only 16 free characters. Until then, enjoy the beta while it lasts!
