Battlefield V to have Destructible Environments, and a BATTLE ROYALE mode

My tears are of joy. I promise.

One of the first things EA talked about in today’s E3 conference was Battlefield V, their follow-up to Battlefield 1 that’s set in WW2 and commits the unforgivable sin of adding women to the game - because it’s not “historically accurate” in a game with infinitely respawning soldiers who can jump into any vehicle or grab any weapon and who can walk off bullets to the face. Up until this point, that was pretty much all we knew about the game, given that the trailer was extremely fake, but we got a bit more useful information about it at today’s conference.

Through another fake trailer, granted, but hey, take what you can get.

The so-called multiplayer trailer doesn’t have a ton of ‘exciting’ information. We already knew there’d be snow, airplanes, boats, and all that woo-ha. We didn’t know that there would be destructive environments and movable heavy turrets, which is something EA is promising will be included in the final game. There also seemed to be a hint at the single-player campaign near the end? That was kind of neat.

And hey, guess what - there will also be a Battle Royale mode!

The mode, called “Royale” was announced but not elaborated on, which is okay, because we all know exactly how it will work anyway. Yaaay.

Overall, there wasn’t much to say about this particular reveal, because it’s mostly stuff we could have guessed or already knew anyway. But I guess it was good to see regardless.
